Very Vintage

The Moschino belt, that is. I have always been an admirer of all things vintage. Thus, when I unearthed my first Moschino belt at a local vintage store back in the year 2009, I could not believe my eyes. Right there, I simply knew I had to get it. Personally, I believe that it is an ageless addition to any outfit, may it be casual or formal. Akin to Ray-Ban aviators or classic black pumps, I do not think beautiful Moschino belts will ever go out of style.

What I wore: Floral printed off shoulder dress, Denim blazer with studs and Hot Pink croc stamped envelope clutch [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Rose Gold Moschino Love belt [Designerati], Michael Kors Rose Gold watch [Gabby’s gift], Light pink Fishbone bracelet in gold chain [J9 by Design], Rose Gold bangle set [S&K Manila], Pink stone ring [Bangkok], Colorblock platform pumps [Primadonna], Piggy iPhone case [Dapskie Online] | Photos by Melai Entuna

How about you? What is your favorite vintage piece?

Loving Him Was Red

Similar to seasons, fashion trends come and go. I am not one to patronize each and every style that emerges for the reason that a good number of fashion trends have the tendency to burn one’s pockets. But back when I was a sophomore in high school circa 2007, one particular bandwagon that I hopped into was the colored pants bandwagon. I collected every color there was possible and I can still recall how I would match my multicolored pairs with different graphic tees.

Fast forward to the present day, I am pleased that these rainbow brights have made a comeback (and that I didn’t throw my pairs away!). For a Christmas party (yes, these photos were gone astray until recently), I decided to spread some Christmas cheer with this red and white ensemble.

I kept these adorable Santa Claus nails all month and got countless compliments from everyone. Thank you, Nail It! Salon Alphaland!

What I wore: White Fifi Lapin x Marc Jacobs printed polo [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Red colored pants [Diva Dolls], Gold Metal Rivera Watch [Marc by Marc Jacobs], Floral bangle [Aldo Accessories], Gold stacked bangles [Hailey and Five], Red and white studded bangle [GQ by PinkCloset], Black hat ring and Red leopard print pumps [Hong Kong], Black Celine Boston Tote Bag [Signatures by Cristina], Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Gabby Regio

Whether it is December or not, give your ordinary denim jeans a break by donning chic colored pants!

Typed from the Heart

What do you do when you realize that the time to say goodbye to the place that you have been used to for the last three years, the place that has become your second home and the place where you have built a thousand memories in has come at last? All I could do was slow down and take a trip down memory lane.

It seems just like yesterday when I entered De La Salle University for the very first time and had the slightest idea regarding its surroundings. “Where is the North Conservatory? Where is Yuchengco Lobby? Where is the canteen?” were just some of the questions inside my naïve Frosh mind. Fast forward to the present time as a graduating La Sallian, I have come to be familiar with the university grounds like it is the back of my hand. Cliché as it may sound, time really does fly fast- way too fast, if I may add.

Within the academe, I met friends that have slowly but surely become family. I met wonderful people that are at present additions to my now stronger support system. I am thankful for my college barkada; my Fags- Abbey, Aressa, Chum, Coleen, Denise, Joy, Rosette and Thea. Without these girls, my college life would have been a total bore. I will never forget our weekly matching outfits and cray cray afternoons at Beach.

♫ ‘Cause we gon’ rock this club, we gon’ go all night, we gon’ light it up like it’s dynamite! ;) #themesong

Within the academe, I got to know a former schoolmate of mine, Joy- who is now very much like a (Jeje) sister to me. All through high school, we only shared hi’s and hello’s. Now, what we have is something so much more than that. She is one of the people who pushed me into starting a fashion blog, my personal photographer who coincidentally took the set of photographs in this post too!

Within the academe, a relationship that was once lost was brought back together and has made me one happy girl ever since. I will always be thankful for my boyfriend, Gabby. Without this boy, I would have taken the taxi (or the train) to and from school every day. Haha! Seriously speaking though, thank you for making me your priority, thank you for always taking care of me and most of all, thank you for not giving up when you had every reason to do so.

Within the academe, I was well taught. I entered DLSU as a raw freshman student. Yes, I was able to acquire learning from high school but the knowledge that my professors have endowed me with are without a doubt beyond price, an education that I will truly take with me and make the most of as I enter the real world. At this moment, I leave DLSU as an accomplished person with utmost confidence as to what lies ahead of me.

Thank you, DLSU’s guards and discipline officers for letting me get away with breaking the dress code (sometimes). Thank you, MyWiFi for being there when I need you. Thank you, my favorite Andrew guards for always having a joyful disposition that is quite transmittable to us students. Thank you, Andrew Building’s stairs for giving me batak legs whenever I’m running late for my classes at the 10th floor.

Thank you, La Casita Cafeteria at Andrew 6th for serving delicious breakfast that starts my day spot on. Thank you, computer laboratory at Andrew 17th for being a convenient place to print my procrastinated home work using my e-Purse. Thank you, 7-11 at One Archers Place for having good coffee that preps me up for my early 8 am classes.

Thank you, Agno’s BacSilog for being the yummy you. Thank you, Zen Tea EGI for being a nice chill place during my long breaks. Thank you, Zaide’s siopao for filling my famished stomach. Thank you, Pearl of Great Price Chapel for being my serene sanctuary. Thank you, Yuchengco Building for providing me with scenic surroundings and sufficient sunlight for my outfit photo shoots.

Thank you, Henry Sy Sr. Hall for being as beautiful as you are and for making me take pleasure in your facilities even just for a short while. Last but definitely not the least, thank you, De La Salle University for an incredible three years of my college life! To my fellow June graduates, a big congratulations to us! We finally did it!

What I wore: Beige skulls studded sheer top [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Black skater skirt [Hong Kong], Black tassel earrings [Stylebook MNL], Gold skull earrings used as collar tips and White and Gold Skully Arm Party set [Young Wild Free], Gold angel wings ring [Chatuchak weekend market Bkk], Amber and Black Chunky Chain bracelets [J9 by Design], Alexander Wang inspired bag [Platinum Fashion Mall Bkk], Germaine spiked sandals [Trunk Show], Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Joy Maslog

College is one grand rollercoaster ride. Enjoy it when you still can!

T.G.I. Friday’s Summer Kick Off

T.G.I.Friday’s, the first American casual dining chain in the Philippines is celebrating a sizzling summer with a new bar menu. The updated bar list includes a wide array of affordable drinks such as the Ultimate drinks, beer on tap at P60, local bottled beer at P75 and beer by the bucket for only P350. Cocktails will also be available starting from P125 and includes staples such as the Long Island Tea, Bahama Mama, Kamikaze and 77 Sunset Strip. To cool down for the scorching summer, the Refillable Mojito is also continuing its run as one of bar’s most popular offerings, available everyday at only P295.

The new beverage menu features concoctions to fit every bar personality, whether you’re the life of the party or just winding after work. To entice patrons to let loose and enjoy the distinct T.G.I.Friday’s atmosphere, the T.G.I Friday’s Red Card will be available by first week of April, which is a passport for a buy-one, take-one on cocktails every Thursday. The cards will be distributed free of charge to dining guests.

Adding to the excitement is the launch of the first leg of the Stars Behind the Bar tour, which includes a showcase of celebrity bartenders, free drinks, and a chance to learn basic flairs and cocktails. Patrons are also known to flock the bar to watch bartenders dazzle with flips, flairs, and tricks before drinks are delivered with a personalized touch.

I would like to thank Margareth Gomez of All Loving Chic, Miss Cindy Manalo of Perk Comm and T.G.I.Friday’s Philippines for having me in this amusing and appetizing affair!

Young Wild Free

Don’t you just love graphic print shirts and the countless possibilities to style them? I know I do. We all have those days when we feel like lazy daisies. In my case, I basically grab a fun printed shirt and work my outfit from there. This particular day, I was inspired by all pieces native and so I donned peacock accessories as finishing touches to my ensemble.

What I wore: White H&M graphic print shirt [Gabby’s gift], Tattered denim short shorts [One Teaspoon], Dark blue blazer [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Brown Clubmaster sunglasses and Peacock necklace [Random], Peacock Danglings [Sugar Town], Heart peacock ring [YORK], Multicolored native bracelet [Bangkok], Royal blue rhinestone studded peep toe pumps [Hong Kong], Brown Louis Vuitton Tambour Chronograph watch [Borrowed from my mom], Louis Vuitton Monogram Cartouchiere cross body bag [Signatures by Cristina], Nails by Nail It! Better Together

Last month of love aka February, Nail It! Salon introduced a valentine’s month offer that was too good to resist. Named after Jack Johnson’s sweet song, this similarly sweet spa package for two was just the thing that Gabby and I needed after a hectic school week. For less than a thousand bucks, the relaxation and the bond that we both shared was undeniably worth even more.

I had no idea that this guy had ticklish feet until the foot spa’s scrubbing part. Hahaha!

I am keen on how Nail It! Salon’s foot spa is more special as compared to the others that I have tried before. This chilly peppermint rub is my favorite part next to watching the soap suds pop one by one!

This visit’s polish picks were all from Orly. I had alternating Cotton Candy and Dazzle on my fingernails and what I constantly have for my toenails is Gumdrop.

The Better Together spa package was completely gratifying and well worth it that I actually wished it was offered all year round. But not to fret; Nail It! Salon does it again this month of May for Mother’s Month.

“For the whole month of MAY, we are celebrating motherhood through our packages for 2. MOM + YOU = Php960 only. :)”

What are you waiting for? Show your mom just how much you love her by scheduling a mother-daughter day only at Nail It! Salon. I know I will! :)

Be My Soldier

Let me share with you the sweet story behind this jacket. Gabby and I were looking around Zara when a fashionable woman walked in front of us, wearing this exact same piece. I was so close to randomly approaching and asking her where she got it as I really wanted one for myself but Gabby insisted that we look around first as he had a feeling that the chic camo jacket was just in store.

Enchantingly enough, it was and I froze upon finding it at the TRF Section. Without more ado, I checked the price tag but thought that it was too much so I just shrugged it off and walked out of the store empty handed. Days passed and there were times when I thought of going on a spree for it but I never actually got to do so. Until one casual day, I found a Zara paper bag lying around the house (with a cheesy love letter in it too!) and the rest is history.

“I saw that pretty face with glowing eyes when you saw this blazer.”

Thank you for the sweet surprise, love! <3 Photo taken via Instagram (@cristinadecena)

Spikes and Safety Pins

I decided to publish this outfit post simply because it’s too hot here in the Philippines and I want you to feel the heat even more. Just kidding! I only have a few more backlog photos from my Los Angeles trip and I can’t wait to share them all with you. For now, here is what I wore to a tiring day of tripping at North Hollywood. As always, it was chilly and so I had to layer up with some leather.

It really is all in the details, isn’t it? My special safety pins-embellished top was made by the resourceful Ken of Helga and Luna. Who would have thought that such small pieces of one commonplace thing can make such a big impact? In addition to that, this Seriously Spiked iPhone case was hand sewn by yours truly. Pang-self defense ang peg! Haha!

What I wore: Gold safety pins-embellished silver top [Helga and Luna], Black leggings [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Black biker jacket [Sister’s closet], Black round sunglasses [Random], Gold long cross earrings and Black Seriously Spiked iPhone case [Young Wild Free], Camel Brown boots with buckle details [Hong Kong], Vintage Chanel backpack [Milan Station HK], Nails by Nail It! I'd Rather be at Coachella

The well-regarded Coachella connotes an array of meanings to an assortment of people. Traditionally, it is California’s greatest platform to commemorate different genres of music. Although up to date, the famous festival has arrived at a new disposition- as a fantastic fashion show off where stylish spirits strut their stuff on the green grass that serves as their runway.

Situated on the other side of the world, I can only daydream of being at the hip and happening Coachellafest as I type this. Nevertheless, I know I should not be anxious because with the sun similarly up and bright here in the Philippines, I can effortlessly incorporate Coachella-inspired fashion into my own summer wardrobe.

What I wore: Black sports bra [Fruit of the Loom], Aztec skirt [S&K Manila], Turquoise oversized polo [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Petunia statement necklace [Wengski & Tomski], Orange Kaira necklace [Mademoiselle by TiSh], Turquoise Skully Arm Party [Young Wild Free], Pastel braided fabric bracelet [Quirkypedia], Pink Chunky Chain bracelet [J9 by Design], Neon Orange strappy wedges [Random], Black Balenciaga Giant Work Bag [Signatures by Cristina] Aztec on white iPhone case [My Shopperoo], Pink little girl ear plug [Berry Couture], Nails by Nail It! How about you? Would you like to channel your inner Coachella chick?

John and Yoko

How have you been, my fellow foodies? It’s been a while since my last restaurant review post, thus I have decided to write a quick one featuring my choice Japanese restaurant in Greenbelt 5, John and Yoko. Without any exaggeration, I can declare that I have devoured in this place for more than ten times already. I did not get the chance to take photos of their interiors during my most recent visit but to elucidate; their walls consist of colored lights and modish silhouettes. They also have classic Japanese films projected on the restaurant’s wall, which I find pretty cool!

Spicy Tuna Salad (P268) - For starters, I (almost) always order their Spicy Tuna Salad. The lettuce leaves are served crunchy all the time and the raw tuna tastes fresh plus mingles very well with the salad’s dressing.

Chicken Teriyaki and Mango Pizza (P309) - This is actually what makes me come back to John and Yoko again and again. Have a taste of this once and I guarantee you’ll get constant cravings. Every one ingredient present on the pizza throws in to its whole delightful taste, most especially the mango slices which put in a twist to your typical pizza.

Green Chicken (P318) - I’m keen on how each piece of chicken is coated with a flavorful batter and fried until crisp. The serving is big enough to share as well.

Tonkatsu Curry (P328) - I wasn’t able to sample this dish but my sister Dana emptied her plate and I take that as a good sign!

On the whole, John and Yoko will undoubtedly make more diners embrace the cosmopolitan Japanese concept it offers. Be sure to order my highly recommended dish, their Chicken Teriyaki and Mango Pizza to have a gratifying dining experience. I’m craving for a slice as I type this!

A Week in Blogsphere

My sister Dana and I were the finale speakers for Assumption College San Lorenzo’s A Week in Blogsphere. As this hip happening was also graced by other notable bloggers; namely Gerd Perez, Dani Barretto, Gelo Arucan and Bjorn Bedayo, my sister and I only wished for our talk to be at par with theirs. Armed with our procrastinated PowerPoint Presentation, our girly getups and self-confidence, we looked forward to a fun Friday with the Assumptionistas…

And we weren’t disappointed! These girls were unquestionably the most welcoming group we’ve met and they completely defied the “We make tusok-tusok the fishball.” stereotype connoted with their school. Each one was game to play a part and even volunteer up front to dance the Gangnam Style! Haha!

That day was definitely full of new learning and happy to say, the learning was both ways! Dana and I learned the “Yaya pose” from the girls. How are we for first timers? :p

I also enjoyed posing for photos during the photo op segment after our talk. Feeling artista lang ako. Chos!

Meet my blockmates from 3B1! They are currently working on their theses and will be graduating soon! Best of luck to you, mga mars! Ati Bea, zors if you were cut in this photo. :/ O, keribels na ba ang 3B1 vocab ko? Jirits! :))

Hello, Bb! <3 Thank you for being supportive to me always, all ways. I may not tell you all the time but I am indeed one grateful girl to have you around. :)

A big thank you to STUDIO and the girls for having me & Dana! We had a blast at our first ever talk & we hope you did too! :) Photo taken via Instagram (@cristinadecena)

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Assumption College and Studio for this amazing opportunity. We sure hope that this would be the start of many more talks in the future!

Soy Unica Hija

Unica Hija has played a big part in the Philippine fashion industry. The brand is known for stylishly classic designs that continue to evolve to give the market what they want to be– chic with a kick of vibrant colors. As their brand name truly translates to only girl and as their beautiful image model, Sarah Geronimo is the ultimate only girl, I began to ask myself; as one of Unica Hija’s new brand ambassadors, what makes me an only girl?

Prior to entering one of the most prestigious universities in the Philippines, De La Salle University, I promised myself that I wouldn’t be intimidated by the brightest learners that I would meet but instead make them serve as my encouragement. Feeling very fortunate that I was given the chance to study in my dream school, I yearned to make my parents proud and bring home the bacon. Thankfully, I have been triumphant of this feat by making it to the Dean’s List more than once. This has become my motivation to strive even more as I come close to my last academic term in DLSU.

I started being an online entrepreneur back in the year 2008. What makes me an only girl in this field is that I am what you may call a one man production. I do research on up-to-the-minute trends and I pick out the products during my travels. I also style the products, shoot them on my makeshift studio, post-process the photos and finally post them up for sale at my online shop, Young Wild Free. While others choose to hire specialized stylists and professional photographers, I go for doing this process all by myself since I have become skilled at this and it has actually turned out to be my passion.

Come to think of it, I am in reality not only a fashion blogger but also a mix of everything in between. If you take a look around this blog, my posts are the very proof that I am more than just your average fashion blogger. Here, I write about my adventures- my voyages overseas, the happenings that I attend, the delectable dishes that I have tasted, the new experiences that I have tried and everything else under the sun. I do not limit my posts to just a single sort because I myself, as well as my qualities are ever changing and as I continue to grow as an individual, I want this blog to document and be a part of my journey.

Last but not the least, I may not be stick thin or supermodel tall but there is one thing that I am sure of- I love my body and I believe that every girl out there should share the same sentiment. This globalized society and the manipulation of media has created a woman’s image so perfectly that most girls my age tend to dislike their bodies and result to crash dieting, starving themselves and having eating disorders. But me? I choose to oppose this. I believe that each one of us is beautiful and blessed, whatever size we may be.

Just learn this by heart- “If you think you’re ugly because you’re not a size 0, you’re the beautiful one, it’s society that’s ugly.” Love your body because this is God’s greatest gift and this is the most wonderful thing that you will ever own.

The thought of having to write about what makes me an only girl was baffling in the beginning. But at this moment, I have come to a realization that without a doubt, there are qualities that make me special and set me apart from the rest. Indeed, I am an only girl. Soy Unica Hija.

What I wore: Black statement shirt [Unica Hija], Black chiffon skirt  [Young Wild Free], Blue heart shaped sunglasses [Bought online], Red and Silver circles neckpiece [The Secret Shop], Red ribbon belt and Black and Silver bangle [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Beaded Love bracelet [J9 by Design], Oversized bug ring with rhinestones [Forever 21 Singapore], Black spiked heel less shoes [Vishoes], Hair, Makeup and Photos by Dana Decena, Nails by Nail It! Frisky in Faux Fur

Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall- don’t you wish that the Philippines had four seasons instead of just two? I do. It’s simply more exciting to dress up in line with the weather. Lots of layers in the winter, stripped down to daisy dukes during the summer… but what to wear in between these opposing seasons, you may ask?

It was mid-fall when we arrived in California. Not too chilly and not too humid, the gentle wind was perfect with the welcoming winter atmosphere. But just because it wasn’t winter yet, it didn’t mean that I couldn’t dress myself in faux fur, right? I thought to myself, snatching this tasteful piece of clothing from my mother’s luggage.

There is purely something sophisticated about this fine fabric; something that reminds me of a well-dressed, 1970s mademoiselle. Feeling this refined sentiment, I pulled my hair back into a high ponytail, put on pretty pearl earrings and the chic pair of color blocking heels that I have acquired just the day before. Glancing at my reflection before heading out, I realized; I don’t play favorites but this ensemble has got to be on the list!

Fun fact: Orly’s Nail Lacquer in Frisky is my all-time preferred polish for my toenails. It’s a brilliant shade of teal that I can’t refuse to give in to whenever I go for Package One at my happy place, Nail It! Salon.

What I wore: Graphic print bodycon dress [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Black faux fur vest [Borrowed from my mom], Black round sunglasses [Young Wild Free], Gold and turquoise metal neckpiece [Gold Couture], Skull arm candies [YORK], Braided bracelets [GQ by PinkCloset], Neon pink and gold charm bangles [The Secret Shop], Brash Jupiter platform sandals [Payless ShoeSource], Vintage Chanel backpack [Signatures by Cristina], Nails by Nail It! Shop and Style

Several teams of fashion bloggers were invited by Araneta Center and Dairy Queen for a day of high fashion and tasty treats on one special Saturday to night. Teamed up with Dianne Dequina of Singletini, we got to “shop” aka pull out products from selected stores in Gateway Mall to come up with casual and formal holiday looks inspired by Dairy Queen’s Black Forest Collection.

image

Drawing lots for our respective models, I picked Colin Smith of Next Models. Dianne and I were looking forward to styling a female model as we thought it would be a lot easier but luck turned its back on us. Nevertheless, we put our game face on and went with the competition.

Runway photos taken by Adly Velasco and Gian Tolentino | Thank you, girls!

Having no major experience on styling men, Dianne and I principally put together ensembles that we pictured our ideal boyfriends to be dressed in. For Colin’s casual look, we started off with a graphic print tee, layered with a denim polo shirt and a DQ Black Forest-themed scarf. I like how the cuffed and rolled pants showed off his stylish boat shoes perfectly.

Can you guess who this ensemble was inspired from? It’s none other than Upper East Side’s renowned bachelor, Chuck Bass. It is no doubt that his character has impeccable style. His tailored sets of clothes, daring shade selections and well-groomed semblance are factors that complete my ultimate gentleman checklist.

Below are photo booth pictures of Dianne and me, together with our intern, Lea. Thank you for all your help that day, Lea. It was great working with you! :)

There is indeed a first time for everything and I thank Rovie Divinagracia of The Bargain Doll, Miss Kath Eustaquio of Araneta Center and Dairy Queen for having me as one of their bloggers in this fun and fashionable affair!

Bits of Beauty

Why pay for essential beauty products of unchanged quality in department stores when SUNDANCE is just around the corner, waiting with delightful discounts? Garnier is one of the skincare lines that provide something fresh for each and every possible skin type. What’s great about Garnier is how they keep on coming up with spanking new products that are not only practical but also valuable for everyday use.

image

image

I solemnly swear by their BB Eye Roll On! Ever since I started using it on a daily basis, I have not found a better substitute for it. I love how it provides me just the right coverage for a fresh-faced look. As opposed to my sister, Dana, I have sensitive skin but despite this circumstance, the both of us still stand by Garnier products for the reason that certainly, you are ought to find something for you, no matter what skin type you have in Garnier.

image

image

Despite the fact that Maybelline is considered as “drugstore makeup”, it is safe to say that it can readily compete with high-end ones. One case in point is their lipstick line which goes from daring shades, all the way down to nude, natural tones. Their palettes are splendidly pigmented and I highly recommend them. Another Maybelline product that I love is their Baby Lips lip balm, which has never failed to make my lips feel like… well a baby’s, no matter how humid the weather may be. It is a pet peeve of mine to have pale, sick-looking lips but Maybelline Baby Lips does its job with moisture plus color for only 99 pesos!

Dress Up Doll

If there is one pop icon that I would never outgrow, it would most probably be Barbie. Not only has the dazzling doll taken over the toy stores, but she has also developed into a fashion muse for girls of all ages. Her signature style that is fun and feminine was the peg used to create this girly get up of mine. Now, I can’t wait to wear more looks inspired by Barbie herself!

What I wore: Colorful print on print dress [Dea’s gift], White round sunglasses [Young Wild Free], White leather belt and Gold LV buckle [Mom’s closet], Neon Yellow and Gold studs bangle [The VIII Shop], Orange Striking Spikes bracelet [Awesomized], Pastel braided fabric bracelet [Quirkypedia], Pink and orange bracelet [Cotton Candy Accessories], Braided zipper bracelet [Graffities], Gold rhinestones bow ring [Hong Kong], Gorgeous connector ring [S&K Manila], Kristelle Fuschia Pink heels [SUNDANCE], Yellow Epi Leather Petit Bucket Bag [Signatures by Cristina], Nails by Nail It! Choose Happiness

Well, look who’s overjoyed! Some time ago, I took notice of the saying that “The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the most of everything that comes their way.”

Too often, we live a life filled with discontent. We constantly yearn for more than what we possess, even if what we have in our hands is already enough. To live wonderfully, one does not need to own all the material things present in this world. One simply has to make the most out of every circumstance that life has to offer. Know and be grateful for what you have. Choose happiness.

On to my ensemble, I wore this to another day of wandering around the lovely city of LA. Can you recall the top that I wore the other way around from this post? ♫ Oops, I did it again. That bow detail was too cute not to flaunt up front. What’s more, I adored how I was able to don my ear flap beanie without feeling weird the entire day.

P.S. Please put up with with me as I continue to deal with my blog backlogs. It seems never-ending pero keribels ko ito! ;)

What I wore: Gray crop top with bow detail and Red leather jacket [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Galaxy print bandage skirt [Joy’s gift], Orange knit ear flap beanie [Thrifted], Gold “Strutting on Sunshine” wire art necklace [Anagon], Black printed socks [Hong Kong], Saville platform shoe boots [Topshop], Nails by Nail It! Runway to Ranch

♫ I hopped off the plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan. Welcome to the land of fame, excess, am I gonna fit in?

Yeehaw! Looking at this set of photographs makes me miss the City of Angels. Their wonderful weather is completely conducive to playing dress up. This day, I channeled my inner cowgirl by taking cue from this pretty pair of boots. If truth be told, inspirational fashion comes from the most unexpected odds and ends. All that’s missing is a good ol’ cowboy hat and I’ll be ready to ride a horse!

I wore this Western-inspired ensemble to a delightful day of shopping at Citadel Outlets. My stylish and snug leather jacket plus boots with the fur got me feeling warm in spite of the chilly weather conditions.

What I wore: Orange custom made ripped top [Mizar Clothing], Aztec studded shorty shorts [Bubbles], Aviator Tech sunglasses [Ray-Ban], Gold plated Aztec necklace [Cool Cats Manila], Tan leather jacket [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Brown fur boots [Hong Kong], Hermes Twilly silk scarves and Hermes Amazonia Brown Buffalo Leather Garden Party MM [Signatures by Cristina], Aztec on white iPhone case [My Shopperoo], Pink Starbucks ear plug [Dapskie Online], Nails by Nail It! The Lucky 13 Winners for 2013!

Dun dun dun dun! The time has finally come to reveal the 13 lucky winners for my New Year 2013 giveaway with no other than Dana! First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to each and every one of you who supported and reblogged the heck out of this giveaway! My sister and I were overwhelmed with the amount of readers who engaged in our little contest!

It is a given fact that if you want something, you have to work for it. So here’s the catch, the system of claiming one’s prize will be a lot trickier and you’ll have to step up your competitive side. Whoever gets to  Signatures by Cristina A.Venue Mall Makati first gets the advantage to choose from any of the 13 sets of prizes, so on and so forth. While the slowpoke of the winners will get the last prize set left, this actually would not matter because the entire sets of prizes are equally fantastic and well, hand-picked by me and my sister personally.

Without further ado, here are the lucky 13 winners for 2013! Are you one of them?

The Month of Love

It’s that time of the year when Valentine’s Day is ahead of us once again. While it’s been a regular routine to ask somebody out on a date with fancy bouquets of flowers, oversized teddy bears and saccharine sweets, an equally essential part of this delightful day is how we present ourselves to our special someone. Agree or disagree?

Gone are the days when fashion only appealed to women. At the moment, more and more gentle men get keen on what they wear. If you are a guy and you are still clueless on what to wear for a special Valentine’s date, here’s a smart clothing suggestion for you. Keep things interesting with a nice printed button down, coordinated with classic black pieces that ought to be found in every man’s closet.

S/S Blue Paisley print button down [Royalty], Atom classic black watch, Buffalo washed black denim pants, Accord black Nappa leather shoes and Black leather belt [All from SUNDANCE]

Women are rather fortunate that there are many fashionable pieces present in the market these days. For a special Valentine’s date, I recommend you ladies to go for one-shoulder dresses that are the ideal infusion of simple and sexy. Topped off with nice-looking curls and fierce smokey eyes, your special someone will feel lucky, that’s for sure!

Artie blue green asymmetrical dress, Flicker blue silver necklace and earrings set, Hair curlers, Ocampo black leather bag, Maybelline Eye Studio Lumineyes Illuminating Eye Shadow and Azenith heels [All from SUNDANCE]

Speaking of the month of love, Nail It! Salon brings you a Valentine’s Month offer you won’t be able to resist. With an affordably luxurious (and scrumptious!) spa package for two, sit back, relax and bond with your special someone any day this February. I know I will!

How about you? Will you try this Better Together offer by Nail It! Salon? Set an appointment today! :)

As the spanking New Year that is 2013 rolled in, one of the New Year’s resolutions that I intended to work on was to publish an end of the month post featuring my Instagram photos from each ended month. I thought that this would be quite engaging, as well as a good way to wrap up every part of 2013. Yay or nay? For now, here is post one out of twelve; January 2013 via Instagram. Superb by SuperSale Bazaar

Being a consumer myself, I have always thought that participating in bazaars is a cool and considerable way to earn extra income. Thus, when Melai invited me to take part as one of Superb by SuperSale Bazaar’s fashion bloggers, I was thrilled! Having the chance to launch my very own, Young Wild Free to the public was a great thing for me. I was able to survey how saleable my products actually were and a blissful bonus was meeting some of my blog readers too! Thank you, Melai and to the SuperSale Bazaar Team for this superb opportunity!

Those round sunglasses were sold out in a matter of minutes. Make sure to grab our last few pieces of floral printed wayfarers and turquoise ombre eyewear!

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Have you ever heard that the years you spend in high school would be the best four years of your life? I have- and tentatively for me, this cliché is somewhat true. There are some things in high school that you would wish to bring back; little things like not having to transfer from one building to another and getting the chance to be acquainted with your classmates and teachers for a long period of time. But one thing that I miss the most about high school is prom season. That anticipated time of the year when everyone gets all glammed up for one special night filled with enthralling expectations and magical memories. Oh, I’m getting nostalgic as I type this. So if you, my dear reader, are still in high school, treasure those delightful days!

Unfortunately for me, high school is long gone and so is prom season. That is why I always get thrilled when formal events come up as it only means one thing- dressing to the nines. This one was no ordinary occasion because we had to fly all the way to the other side of the globe for this exceptional night. For the second year in a row, my mother received a significant award from Gawad Amerika. The good people behind this foundation recognized her as 2012’s Most Outstanding Philanthropist. Once again, congratulations, Mommy! You never fail to make us proud.

On to my ensemble, I’ve had this graceful dress in my closet for around a year already. I remember purchasing it at random, with the thinking that it could come in useful for a future affair. Well, what do you know? It was perfect for Mommy’s Awards Night! Fall season in the States had the tendency to get chilly, particularly during the nighttime so I had to layer up with this leather jacket, which was very versatile for me during the whole trip.

Securing my hair up in a messy bun went well with the effortlessly elegant look that I had going on for the night. Plus, it showed off my beautiful chandelier earrings as they should be.

In ceremonial happenings such as this one, it’s not just me who should be all dressed up but my phone as well. Dapskie Online has the best bits and pieces to glam up your gadgets, suitable for everyday and special occasions.

What I wore: Lavender lace dress with bow back detail [Topshop], Black biker jacket [Sister’s closet], Silver rhinestone studded chandelier earrings and Silver pumps [Bangkok], Coach Poppy multi charm bracelet [Gift], Amethyst bangle [The VIII Shop], Silver disco ball bangle [Gift], Alexander McQueen inspired Knuckle Duster clutch [Japan], Keep Calm and Sparkle iPhone decal [Plain to Pizzazz], Pink Swirl & Twirl iPhone case and Rhinestone studded crown ear plug [Dapskie Online], Nails by Nail It! Fantastic Finds for the Family

Photo taken via Instagram (@cristinadecena)

Ho ho ho! Just because the holidays are over, it does not mean that caring and sharing should end too. Despite the fact that the official gift-giving time of the year is already done with, I’ve only just discovered Fashion Exchange (F/X) and  loads of fantastic finds that you possibly would love to give as birthday presents, Valentine’s presents or sweet little surprises such as “I thought of you when I saw this” presents! What’s best, everything is actually affordable, just the thing for those who love giving and sharing all year round, like me!

My brother has been passionately purchasing baby stuff ever since the birth of this beautiful baby boy, Nathan. Most times, I find it quite odd how baby clothes and shoes are sold even more costly than my own apparel. At Fashion Exchange, this is cheerfully not the case. Where else can you find adorable puppy sandals for only 168 pesos?

My younger sister, Dana has a current addiction with bow headbands. I started disciplining her when she went home with an ordinary-looking one and told me she got it for a posh price of 399 pesos. Put side by side with that overpriced piece, Fashion Exchange’s 3-in-1 bow headbands at only 255 pesos are such a steal, letting you enjoy three headbands for the price of one.

I don’t know about other girls but I find it extremely difficult when gift-shopping for the opposite sex. Someone once told me that you can never go wrong with giving a guy a watch. At only 645 pesos, Fashion Exchange’s classic-looking Ripley Watch is hard to resist. Look, fashion blogger Gerd Perez raves about it too!

My two elder sisters have contrasting styles. Tin is more of the typical little black dress kind of woman while Kat is more of an adventurous dresser. Either way, I found just the right dresses and accessories for the both of them at Fashion Exchange. How very opportune, right?

I believe that sophisticated is the most fitting word to describe my mother’s style. Her closet boasts of the most tasteful and timeless pieces, plus she (almost) never leaves the house without a belt that compliments her waist. Whether your loved ones adore similar things or not, Fashion Exchange surely has the perfect present for each and every one of your nearest and dearest. So go ahead and give a thoughtful token of appreciation today!

An Artistic Afternoon

“It’s about a girl who gets turned into a swan and she needs love to break the spell, but her prince falls for the wrong girl so she kills herself.”

Have you ever watched the motion picture, Black Swan? I have- for so many times already, and the leading character, Nina’s look never ceases to captivate me. In concert with the skills of my sister, Dana and the helpful products thoughtfully sent by SUNDANCE and The VIII Shop, we recreated the protagonist’s look during one artistic afternoon and made it our own. Yes, this is what we do during playtime.

Want to pull off the same makeup look? Here are products that my Makeup Guru sister, Dana and I recommend!

It has been a healthy habit of mine to apply lip balm before anything else so that by the time I apply an additional lip product, it will slide along smoothly. I guess the product’s name, Maybelline Baby Lips is pretty self-explanatory. With religious usage, your lips will definitely be reborn and feel smooth as a baby’s.

I hate heavy foundation so I used Maybelline’s Clear Smooth 8-in-1 BB Stick to conceal any imperfections I had. I have sensitive skin and so I am very particular with the product that I choose to use as my base. Trying out this B.B Stick for the first time did not disappoint.

The eyebrows are the main and most crucial area of the face, for me at least. It can either make or break your entire make up look. This Maybelline Eye Studio Crayon Brow in Brown made it possible for me to have solid yet natural-looking eyebrows with the bonus of a well-defined arch.

My peepers shined bright like diamonds with Maybelline Eye Studio’s Lumineyes in Gray. First, I applied the lightest shade of the palette all over my lids. Then, I used the darkest shade of the palette to exaggerate my crease. Easy peasy, right?

I used Jordana’s Eye Fixation in Silver to enhance the silver eyeshadow that I applied previously. The good thing about this product is that you can easily control the direction due to its easy-to-grip packaging.

One more technique to boost up one’s eyes is to overlap the black eyeshadow that I applied previously with a sharp liquid eyeliner. This way, you can create a more distinct double lid. Maybelline Eye Studio Hypersharp Ultra-Fine Liner does the job perfectly for this kind of technique because of its super sharp tip.

The finishing touch to my already bold eye makeup is a coat of Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Mascara. Because this mascara’s objective is to curl your lashes, using an eyelash curler is no longer necessary.

Photo shoots and cameras have the tendency to make faces appear quite flat. I cleanly contoured the sides of my nose and brushed on Benefit’s Dallas Bronzer to the depths of my chubby cheeks.

Yep, I used an eye pencil as my lipstick. I guess I was inspired by the name, Benefit’s Bad Gal and so I went for bizarre black lips and outlined it with Jordana’s Eye Fixation in Silver which I used earlier. Badass, don’t you think?

Each and every girl loves all kinds of bling. Where else could you get this kind of gorgeous glitz and glam for as low as ten pesos? None other than at Nail It! Salon, of course! Living up to its slogan of Affordable Luxury, treat yourself to rhinestone studded nails, available in an assortment of all shapes and sizes you can imagine! At Nail It! Salon, nothing is unachievable. Bring in a photo of a nail art design that you’ve been eyeing and let the nail techs work their magic!

Silver spikes headband [Young Wild Free], Circular rhinestone studded ring [Stuff by Duff], Mikee Mariel Luxe White Chanel ear plug [Gabby’s gift], Rhinestone studded Chanel iPhone case [Berry Couture], Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Dana Decena

All beauty products above are available at SUNDANCE and The VIII Shop. I wouldn’t recommend these to you, my dear readers if they weren’t reasonably priced and of top quality. Happiness guaranteed! ;)

Opt for 'Oh Wells' than 'What Ifs'

♫ Shawty had them Apple Bottom jeans, jeans, boots with the fur, with the fur.

Flo Rida’s seasoned song echoed in my head the first time I put on these boots. To be blatantly honest, I never considered wearing fur boots in my life. I always thought that they were passé and that only one out of ten people could actually wear it well. But that is what fashion is about, isn’t it? Taking risks, trying one’s limits and wanting to go beyond them.

In general, life is like that as well. You’ll never know if you never try. Nevertheless the act of trying is often not easy. Each and every one of us is frightened that we might fall short and discourage not only ourselves but also the people around us. In turn, we prefer settling wherever we feel sheltered, instead of truly making an effort to progress. But why settle for less when you can have much more? The key is to have confidence in one’s self, as well as one’s capabilities. Keep in mind that not being successful at first is nothing but ordinary.

Starting this 2013, choose to live a blissful life of ‘oh wells’ than a desperate life of ‘what ifs’.

Gray Forever 21 snowflakes printed pullover [Therese’s gift], Red bandage skirt [Zara], Aviator Tech sunglasses [Ray-Ban], Gold owl necklace [Chatuchak Weekend Market Bkk], Black fur boots [Hong Kong], Hermes Twilly silk scarves and Hermes Amazonia Brown Buffalo Leather Garden Party MM [Signatures by Cristina], Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Dana Decena

What are you waiting for? Collect the courage, go out and start trying today. ;)

New Year, New Opportunities

The beginning of a brand new year is an ideal moment to stop and think about our way of life for the year that just passed. This is also the time when we turn our attention to those things we hope to change or initiate for the coming year. While most people promise to start a new hobby, give up a bad vice or shed off a few pounds, committing one’s self to a New Year’s resolution is more often than not interpreted as a beneficial feat.

Venturing in a part-time production or earning income while being a student could be absorbing and could confirm to be a gratifying experience as well. Not only does it load one’s wallet for the weekend, it will come in handy for future plans too. Whether or not you are a student like me and you plainly would like to make money while staying focused with your studies, here’s a great opportunity for you!

Direct selling is a very accommodating line of business that one can engage in. Contrasting the contemporary ways that we have come to know at present, direct selling has been staying alive for the longest time and has fascinated people from all ages and all walks of life, being an effortless means to earn additional income. Not everyone is equipped with the ability to make goods that are apt for buy and sell. Generally, getting hold of the initial resources and transforming them would be dreadfully time-consuming and it is easier said than done.

Being a dealer for a direct selling business comes with its benefits. One instantly acquires the right to use an array of functional, reputable and valuable goods. In concert with advertising supplies and proficient marketing skills on hand, one can easily devote his free time in doing lucrative business with family and friends.

A Different Kind of Slumber

Constantly, I am reminded of the blissful fact that I am a part of the Nail It! Salon family. What’s even more rewarding is how as their resident blogger, I am able to embody, enhance and help the brand reach its full potential. I will always be grateful to Jariss and Ma’am Jean Uvero of Nail It! Salon for welcoming us, bloggers into their family and for always believing in our craft.

As Nail It! Salon unveiled another beautiful branch at Alphaland Southgate Mall last September 29th, it was the perfect time to experience a different kind of slumber… Slumber party, that is! Being a resident blogger, I was allowed to raffle off one ticket to a reader of mine. Lucky Relly won and got to be my #slumberparty buddy for that fun-filled night, together with my sister, Dana!

Of course, a Nail It! Salon event would not be complete without the presence of its resident bloggers. Here are photos of me- Cristina Decena of Strutting on Sunshine, Melai Entuna of Style and Soul, Jac Pequeña of Vogue Esprit, Bea Benedicto of The Fashion Bamboozle, Debbie Fermin and Demmie Fermin of The Twins Owning It.

What made this branch’s launching even more exciting is how the occasion showcased Nail It! Salon’s newest offering, Sparty packages! Whether you’re celebrating your birthday or simply commemorating a milestone in your life, host a party that is as special as you are. Let Nail It! Salon take care of you and your girlfriends with the luxury of spa services along with a delectable dessert buffet overflowing with sweet treats that none of your guests can resist. Each Sparty package may be personalized to fit anything you may fancy for your special day!

Sue Suanco of Love Sueeeshi, Hash Guiam of FLEDGEMYDEAR and Jeka Dela Rosa of Cloudmaker

Dana Decena of Dreaming with Dana

Rovie Divinagracia of The Bargain Doll and Nika Plana of Your Fashion Inspiration

Erika Ochosa of When in Manila

Spot me and Jariss wearing our thinking caps! Lololol.

Tracy Ayson of Fashion fangirl, Ma’am Jean Uvero and Aisa Ipac of Drowning Equilibriums

Gift certificates and more goodies were given away courtesy of Bioessence, Flipsters and Trunk Show! As for me, my birthday won’t be happening ‘til the month of May but I would unquestionably love to give the dull dinner and drinks tradition a twist by hosting an extraordinary Sparty for me and my girlfriends. Save the date!

Thank God It's Friday

Not just any other Friday, it’s Topman Fashion Fridays! Paying tribute to its home country, Topman London’s trendy tradition was channeled by Topman Philippines as the flagship store launched its very own Topman Fashion Fridays last September 28th. A special shopping party was enjoyed by everyone as complimentary drinks were served and DJ Nix Damn P! rocked the night away.

A fashionable event like this only meant one thing- seeing familiar faces. I was so happy to see my friends from RSSI’s League of Fashion 2012 again. It was quite noticeable how everyone was blooming! Yieee hello, guys!

Duds Guttierez

Sam Policios and Sarah Policios of 11th of October

Ayds Guadalupe of The Dandy Ayds and Raymond Angat of AB BLOGOLOGY

I still get star struck whenever I would bump into David at events. This guy has already made a great deal of achievements while still keeping his feet on the ground. Such an inspiration you are, David!

Louie Gabaldon

Kaye Pernia

And the Most Blooming Award of the night goes to our stunning Mommy Inez Fernandez!

An obligatory photo with the Topman Fashion Fridays backdrop beside my favorite date for always. ♡

See you at the next Topman Fashion Fridays, yes? :)

Last Friday Night

♫ There’s a stranger in my bed, there’s a pounding in my head, glitter all over the room, pink flamingos in the pool. I smell like a minibar, dj’s passed out in the yard, Barbie’s on the barbecue, is this a hickey or a bruise?

Oh, how I love Fridays. Who doesn’t count the days ‘til the splendid weekend anyway? For me, Fridays connote a short but sweet escape from the demanding responsibilities of school and work. It is the perfect day to stay up late and chill out.  But right after a blissful weekend comes Monday, the most dreaded day of the week. Basically, we loathe Mondays as it means the start of another hectic five days. But come to think of it, this fresh week also gives us an opportunity to start anew and set things straight, things that we may have done wrong in the week that just passed.

On to my ensemble, this is what I wore to the launching of Topman Fashion Fridays, which will be the highlight of my next post. I worked on Aztec elements mixed with feminine fabrics, made chic and cheerful with the use of layered necklaces and piled arm candies.

Remember this post? Well the Fashion God aka Ate Mary Rose of Topshop Greenbelt worked her magic and destined this gleaming pair to be a part of my shoe collection. Thanks, Ate! I hope to see you soon! :)

What I wore: Gray Aztec bralet, Gray tulle skirt, Lavender blazer and Violet croc stamped envelope clutch [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Triangles Aztec necklace [Bubbles], Neon drops necklace [YORK], Neon Yellow Spikes bracelet [Awesomized], Braided bracelets [GQ by PinkCloset], Tie dye Spikes bracelet, Orange Stud Strand bracelet and Cinderella connector ring [Young Wild Free], Whoopie Strappy Glitter Wedges [Topshop], Nails by Nail It! P.S. It’s the last day of SuperSale Bazaar tomorrow and I hope y’all could visit my Union Jack themed booth at the right side, #37. Score the last few trendy threads straight from my closet and limited edition Berry Couture and Young Wild Free pieces, nothing over P500! See you there!

New Possibilities + SuperSale Giveaway

Being open to new possibilities is nothing but a great thing. A person’s profession and eventually one’s whole existence come about by trying out new things and unexpectedly realizing an ideal fondness for something they never thought would delight their spirits. It’s true what they say; you’ll never know if you never try.

For this particular ensemble, I stepped out of my comfort zone and left my typical neckwear behind. Detachable collars have been around for quite some time now but I only got to wear one recently, special thanks to Jac of flatterbuy. One lovely discovery from this deed? A newfound love for these brilliant babies! It’s wonderful how they effortlessly perk up any top in your closet, minus the heat and hassle of additional layers.

What I wore: DIY YSL graphic printed crop top and Gold pumps [Bangkok], Zebra print trousers with bow detail [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Gold spikes stud earrings, Gold five row spikes bangle and Black and White mini mustache rings [Young Wild Free], Great Gatsby collar [flatterbuy], Gold Louis Vuitton Miroir Alma [Mom’s hand me down] | Photos by Joy Maslog

The holidays are right around the corner, so rather than reaching for your favorite shiny dress this season, the SuperSale Team highly suggests spending on your wardrobe at 90% off. From your favorite fashion brands to Christmas decors, the biggest premium Holiday shopping experience is here. The SuperSale Bazaar Holiday Edition will be held on December 1st to 5th, 2012, from Friday to Wednesday, 10am-9pm at World Trade Center’s Hall D. Well aware of the crazy Christmas rush, the SuperSale Team has extended the shopping experience from the normal 3-day sale to five days of hunting for on-trend bargains!

I am truly honored to be a part of the biggest bazaar of the year and it would mean so much to me if you could ‘like’ my photo here. Get a chance to raid trendy threads straight from my closet and score limited edition Berry Couture and Young Wild Free pieces as well!

Girl on the Go

The past few weeks have been quite a whirl that words cannot even explain. Not a single complaint though, I must say that this kind of hustle and bustle is something that I have come to love. How, you may ask? Let me give you several (tried and tested) tips to lessen pressure and increase productivity.

1. Plan and stick to it. Keep a planner or make a to-do list and strictly pursue it, no excuses accepted.

2. Prioritize. Use up your time on essential errands only. Otherwise, you’ll be wasting precious hours and equally precious energy too.

3. Learn how to say no. Oftentimes, it is hard to decline favors from family and friends but it is very important to think of your to-do list first prior to acquiring extra work.

4. Turn down distractions. Facebook and Twitter are my top two evils when I need to concentrate and so SelfControl for Mac is something that I treasure.

5. Kick back and relax when desired. Too much of something is well, too much. It’s okay to take a day off and pick yourself up. My favorite time out treat is Nail It! Salon’s Package 1!

And another treat for a girl on the go like me? This clever emergency kit from MARiS that holds useful paraphernalia, perfect for all kinds of girl crises!

What I wore: White sheer top and Red snakeskin clutch [Hong Kong], Leopard print skirt [Ysh’s Gift], Black sunglasses with floral details [Random], Turquoise stone studded necklace [Bangkok], Crisscross magnetic cuff [Hailey and Five], Black and Turquoise YSL inspired Arty oval ring [Young Wild Free], Colorblock platform pumps [Primadonna], Girl’s Little Emergency Kit [MARiS], Nails by Nail It! Salon

How about you? How do you handle a hectic schedule? :)

The Greatest Motivator

Each one of us has an aspiration to be recognized. We yearn for other people to be acquainted with the actions we strive hard to put together. As a blogger per se, I am very much boosted up when people distinguish the posts that I publish. The simple knowledge that someone else, may it be a stranger or an acquaintance, is willing to give his time to read what I write is nothing short of a wonderful feeling. Recognition is indeed the greatest motivator.

The same sentiment comes about when brands, organizations and the like want to put the spotlight on me for excelling in my craft. Even better when they admire the skills of my younger sister, Dana as well! In high spirits, we are featured as November’s “ChickS of the Month” on chickflick.ph. Something to get you excited is an upcoming giveaway with this superb store, no less!

As it appears above, Dana and I will be at Assumption College Makati on Friday afternoon, November 23rd to give an interactive talk and grace “A Week in Blogsphere.” It’s gonna be a week full of blog-related fun so please support this hip happening, brought to you by Studio. See you! :)

What I wore: Neon yellow graphic printed sheer top [Hong Kong], Tattered denim short shorts [One Teaspoon], Studded belt, Silver studs bangle and Green Keep Calm and Carry On ring [Bangkok], Violet dangling earrings [Pretty Little Thing], Silver bangle [Claire’s USA], Neon tie-up bracelet [YORK], Neon pink skull ring [Hong Kong], Zebra wedges [Chick Flick] | Photos by Hannah Magsayo

La Bella Vita

Do you ever have those priceless moments when you take a pause and think to yourself that life is beautiful? I do. And it is during those instances that I realize how truly blessed I am. When I was younger, I used to believe in the aphorism that “Good things come to those who wait.” Presently, being a couple of years older and wiser, I have come to a realization that sure, good things may come to those who wait but better things come to those who are willing to get up and work hard for it. Luck may turn towards us sometimes but by and by, we should know how to pursue for those good things and exert effort to achieve them.

On to my ensemble, this sparkling outfit was what I wore to Nail It! Salon’s photo and video shoot at the quaint little Cubao X. I am such an aficionada of full-size, flouncy skirts and I despise the fact that I may be outgrowing them some time in the future. Nooo!

Such a picturesque place Cubao X is that my fellow Resident Bloggers; Bea, Melai and I couldn’t help taking photos even if it was “prohibidado” by the security guard. Who could resist touristy shots with this lovable Leaning Tower of Pisa anyway?

What I wore: Turquoise midrib top and White chiffon skirt, Gold skull ring and Gold pumps [Bangkok], Yellow rhinestone studded collar necklace [Hailey and Five], Gold five row spikes bangle and Turquoise YSL inspired Arty oval ring [Young Wild Free], Limited edition mint lace bracelet [GQ by PinkCloset], White and gold studded bracelet [Random], Yellow classic leather clutch [Vivienne Westwood], Cake iPhone case [Hong Kong], Pink heart ear plug [Berry Couture], Hair and Makeup by Dana Decena, Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Melai Entuna and Jac Pequena

How was your Halloweekend? I’m jumpstarting my Halloween with Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights tomorrow and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I hope my scaredy-cat family doesn’t back out at the last minute. Haha!

Like A Skyscraper

Being a blogger, to me is very much analogous to constructing a skyscraper. One must start off with a well-built foundation in order to grow taller. The higher you are, the more guarded you should be as you become more prone to breaking and collapsing. Although I do not consider myself even halfway “up there”, I am indeed thankful of what I have accomplished to this point. Being an aspirant in the field for only over a year, I have also made strong relationships that I now treasure and wish to keep for a lifetime.

On to my ensemble, this dress was ideal for my endearing nephew’s baptism, which I will be blogging about next. The sweetheart neckline was a pretty pleaser and how I wish that I could make you feel its material because the spots are made of delicate velvet fabric! Lovely, isn’t it? Thank you, Jessel of Elegante Boutique for thoughtfully sending me this. :)

What I wore: Animal print sweetheart dress [Elegante Boutique], Brown round sunglasses and Gold Crystal Drop ear cuff [Young Wild Free], Adriana Gems bracelets [Hailey and Five], Gold Juicy Couture charm bracelet [Sister’s closet], Black Louis Vuitton Tambour Diving II Chronograph watch [Stolen from my mom], Gold bangles [Random], Black Louis Vuitton bangle [Mom’s gift], Black stone ring [Forever 21 Singapore], Alexander McQueen inspired Knuckle Duster clutch [Japan], Nude platform pumps [Hong Kong], Nails by Nail It! Salon | Photos by Ate Loila and Gabby Regio

P.S. I would like to thank Kato, Melai and everyone else who came out and supported me at the recently concluded Superb by SuperSale Bazaar. It was a wonderful first time for me and I’m definitely looking forward to the next one! :)
