Spikes and Safety Pins

image

I decided to publish this outfit post simply because it’s too hot here in the Philippines and I want you to feel the heat even more. Just kidding! I only have a few more backlog photos from my Los Angeles trip and I can’t wait to share them all with you. For now, here is what I wore to a tiring day of tripping at North Hollywood. As always, it was chilly and so I had to layer up with some leather.

It really is all in the details, isn’t it? My special safety pins-embellished top was made by the resourceful Ken of Helga and Luna. Who would have thought that such small pieces of one commonplace thing can make such a big impact? In addition to that, this Seriously Spiked iPhone case was hand sewn by yours truly. Pang-self defense ang peg! Haha!

An Artistic Afternoon

image

“It’s about a girl who gets turned into a swan and she needs love to break the spell, but her prince falls for the wrong girl so she kills herself.”

Have you ever watched the motion picture, Black Swan? I have- for so many times already, and the leading character, Nina’s look never ceases to captivate me. In concert with the skills of my sister, Dana and the helpful products thoughtfully sent by SUNDANCE and The VIII Shop, we recreated the protagonist’s look during one artistic afternoon and made it our own. Yes, this is what we do during playtime.

Want to pull off the same makeup look? Here are products that my Makeup Guru sister, Dana and I recommend!

It has been a healthy habit of mine to apply lip balm before anything else so that by the time I apply an additional lip product, it will slide along smoothly. I guess the product’s name, Maybelline Baby Lips is pretty self-explanatory. With religious usage, your lips will definitely be reborn and feel smooth as a baby’s.image

I hate heavy foundation so I used Maybelline’s Clear Smooth 8-in-1 BB Stick to conceal any imperfections I had. I have sensitive skin and so I am very particular with the product that I choose to use as my base. Trying out this B.B Stick for the first time did not disappoint.image

The eyebrows are the main and most crucial area of the face, for me at least. It can either make or break your entire make up look. This Maybelline Eye Studio Crayon Brow in Brown made it possible for me to have solid yet natural-looking eyebrows with the bonus of a well-defined arch.

My peepers shined bright like diamonds with Maybelline Eye Studio’s Lumineyes in Gray. First, I applied the lightest shade of the palette all over my lids. Then, I used the darkest shade of the palette to exaggerate my crease. Easy peasy, right?image

I used Jordana’s Eye Fixation in Silver to enhance the silver eyeshadow that I applied previously. The good thing about this product is that you can easily control the direction due to its easy-to-grip packaging.image

One more technique to boost up one’s eyes is to overlap the black eyeshadow that I applied previously with a sharp liquid eyeliner. This way, you can create a more distinct double lid. Maybelline Eye Studio Hypersharp Ultra-Fine Liner does the job perfectly for this kind of technique because of its super sharp tip.image

The finishing touch to my already bold eye makeup is a coat of Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Mascara. Because this mascara’s objective is to curl your lashes, using an eyelash curler is no longer necessary.image

Photo shoots and cameras have the tendency to make faces appear quite flat. I cleanly contoured the sides of my nose and brushed on Benefit’s Dallas Bronzer to the depths of my chubby cheeks.image

Yep, I used an eye pencil as my lipstick. I guess I was inspired by the name, Benefit’s Bad Gal and so I went for bizarre black lips and outlined it with Jordana’s Eye Fixation in Silver which I used earlier. Badass, don’t you think?

Loco for Coco

When asked what my favorite luxury brand is, I answer Chanel without hesitation. I figured the best affair to show my loco for Coco was during the inauguration of Signatures by Cristina, my lovely mother’s newest hobbyhorse. But let’s save more of that on a future post, shall we?

Given that it was a semi-formal occasion, it was also the ideal moment to don these trendy threads thoughtfully sent by Fashion Fruit, which have been sitting pretty in my closet for quite some time now. Thank you, Gea!

Classy and sparkly down to my phone case, thanks to Berry Couture.

What I wore: Black basic strapless dress and Pink printed chiffon Hi-Lo skirt [Fashion Fruit], Black leather belt and Silver Chanel buckle [Mom’s closet], Chanel earrings [Mom’s gift], Charriol cable bracelet and ring [Gift], Black and Silver bangle, Rhinestone studded panda ring and Silver pumps [Bangkok], Love ring [Hong Kong], Rhinestone studded Chanel iPhone case [Berry Couture], Embroidered jersey Chanel flap bag [Milan Station HK]

Genie in a Bottle

Donning harem pants makes me think that I’m a genie. I think I’ll never grow weary of the unrestricted sentiment it gives me. Undeniably, I am craving for more colors and prints of these babies that it actually came across my mind to have them custom-made as I type this. Recommend me a good seamstress? :)

Another comfortable item that I adore is a pair of wedges. How these babies come in stunning styles and shades is just a delightful bonus!

What I wore: Black tube top, White blazer and Gunmetal spikes necklace [Bangkok], Printed harem pants and Black chain bag [Hong Kong], Black Chanel sunglasses [Mom’s closet], Arrow connector ring [Bought online], Hot pink chiffon tie studded wedges [Janylin]

If Happy Ever After Did Exist

I would still be holding you like this. All those fairytales are full of sh*t, one more stupid love song I’ll be sick.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not heartbroken or anything close to that condition. Maroon 5’s Payphone has simply been stuck in my head all day.

On to my ensemble, I had no outfit primed for the UNIQLO affair that I was set to attend with my fellow fashion bloggers. Good old procrastination led me to this flower child inspired ensemble.

What I wore: Black tube top and Red suede platform pumps [Bangkok], Floral skirt [Hong Kong], Black blazer [Bought online], Flowers hippie headband [Borrowed from my sister], Fashion ate the world nameplate [I Love You Store], Red flowers ring [Random], Silver rhinestone and pearls ring [Pretty Little Thing], Black Chanel Patent GST [Chanel]
