Frisky in Faux Fur

image

Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall- don’t you wish that the Philippines had four seasons instead of just two? I do. It’s simply more exciting to dress up in line with the weather. Lots of layers in the winter, stripped down to daisy dukes during the summer… but what to wear in between these opposing seasons, you may ask?

It was mid-fall when we arrived in California. Not too chilly and not too humid, the gentle wind was perfect with the welcoming winter atmosphere. But just because it wasn’t winter yet, it didn’t mean that I couldn’t dress myself in faux fur, right? I thought to myself, snatching this tasteful piece of clothing from my mother’s luggage.

There is purely something sophisticated about this fine fabric; something that reminds me of a well-dressed, 1970s mademoiselle. Feeling this refined sentiment, I pulled my hair back into a high ponytail, put on pretty pearl earrings and the chic pair of color blocking heels that I have acquired just the day before. Glancing at my reflection before heading out, I realized; I don’t play favorites but this ensemble has got to be on the list!

Fun fact: Orly’s Nail Lacquer in Frisky is my all-time preferred polish for my toenails. It’s a brilliant shade of teal that I can’t refuse to give in to whenever I go for Package One at my happy place, Nail It! Salon.

Last Friday Night

♫ There’s a stranger in my bed, there’s a pounding in my head, glitter all over the room, pink flamingos in the pool. I smell like a minibar, dj’s passed out in the yard, Barbie’s on the barbecue, is this a hickey or a bruise?

Oh, how I love Fridays. Who doesn’t count the days ‘til the splendid weekend anyway? For me, Fridays connote a short but sweet escape from the demanding responsibilities of school and work. It is the perfect day to stay up late and chill out.  But right after a blissful weekend comes Monday, the most dreaded day of the week. Basically, we loathe Mondays as it means the start of another hectic five days. But come to think of it, this fresh week also gives us an opportunity to start anew and set things straight, things that we may have done wrong in the week that just passed.

On to my ensemble, this is what I wore to the launching of Topman Fashion Fridays, which will be the highlight of my next post. I worked on Aztec elements mixed with feminine fabrics, made chic and cheerful with the use of layered necklaces and piled arm candies.

Remember this post? Well the Fashion God aka Ate Mary Rose of Topshop Greenbelt worked her magic and destined this gleaming pair to be a part of my shoe collection. Thanks, Ate! I hope to see you soon! :)

La Bella Vita

Do you ever have those priceless moments when you take a pause and think to yourself that life is beautiful? I do. And it is during those instances that I realize how truly blessed I am. When I was younger, I used to believe in the aphorism that “Good things come to those who wait.” Presently, being a couple of years older and wiser, I have come to a realization that sure, good things may come to those who wait but better things come to those who are willing to get up and work hard for it. Luck may turn towards us sometimes but by and by, we should know how to pursue for those good things and exert effort to achieve them.

On to my ensemble, this sparkling outfit was what I wore to Nail It! Salon’s photo and video shoot at the quaint little Cubao X. I am such an aficionada of full-size, flouncy skirts and I despise the fact that I may be outgrowing them some time in the future. Nooo!

Such a picturesque place Cubao X is that my fellow Resident Bloggers; Bea, Melai and I couldn’t help taking photos even if it was “prohibidado” by the security guard. Who could resist touristy shots with this lovable Leaning Tower of Pisa anyway?

What I wore: Turquoise midrib top and White chiffon skirt, Gold skull ring and Gold pumps [Bangkok], Yellow rhinestone studded collar necklace [Hailey and Five], Gold five row spikes bangle and Turquoise YSL inspired Arty oval ring [Young Wild Free], Limited edition mint lace bracelet [GQ by PinkCloset], White and gold studded bracelet [Random], Yellow classic leather clutch [Vivienne Westwood], Cake iPhone case [Hong Kong], Pink heart ear plug [Berry Couture], Hair and Makeup by Dana Decena, Nails by Nail It! How was your Halloweekend? I’m jumpstarting my Halloween with Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights tomorrow and I couldn’t be more thrilled! I hope my scaredy-cat family doesn’t back out at the last minute. Haha!

In Full Bloom

Back when I was still a little kid, I was fond of picking flowers and turning them into crowns. I would prance around feeling like a princess and I would show them off until they wilted. This season’s in-thing definitely brings back memories of my childhood, as floral crowns are having their fashionable fame these days.

On to my ensemble, I went for floral on floral by donning this beautiful bustier dress thoughtfully sent by Love Humbly Shop. I love how its fit sculpted my positive features faultlessly, therefore producing a striking and slim silhouette.

My phone wonderfully went from Plain to Pizzazz, thanks to Shali’s delightful iPhone decal and Berry Couture’s flower ear plug!

What I wore: Floral print bustier dress [Love Humbly Shop], Blue + Yellow flower crown and Red flower bracelet [Indiestructible], Neon Aztec necklace [Bubbles], Green and yellow braided bracelet [GQ by PinkCloset], Skull arm candy [YORK], Orange Striking Spikes bracelet [Awesomized], Pink and orange bracelet [Cotton Candy Accessories], Brown rhinestones bracelet [Sugar Town], Green Butterbaby bangle [Hailey and Five], Love connector ring [Wengski & Tomski], Pink Aztec ring [CoolCats Manila], Silver spiral flower ring [The Secret Shop], Gold pumps [Bangkok], Keep Calm and Sparkle iPhone decal [Plain to Pizzazz], Pink flower ear plug [Berry Couture], Nails by Nail It!
