Be My Soldier

Let me share with you the sweet story behind this jacket. Gabby and I were looking around Zara when a fashionable woman walked in front of us, wearing this exact same piece. I was so close to randomly approaching and asking her where she got it as I really wanted one for myself but Gabby insisted that we look around first as he had a feeling that the chic camo jacket was just in store.

Enchantingly enough, it was and I froze upon finding it at the TRF Section. Without more ado, I checked the price tag but thought that it was too much so I just shrugged it off and walked out of the store empty handed. Days passed and there were times when I thought of going on a spree for it but I never actually got to do so. Until one casual day, I found a Zara paper bag lying around the house (with a cheesy love letter in it too!) and the rest is history.

Choose Happiness

image

Well, look who’s overjoyed! Some time ago, I took notice of the saying that “The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the most of everything that comes their way.”

Too often, we live a life filled with discontent. We constantly yearn for more than what we possess, even if what we have in our hands is already enough. To live wonderfully, one does not need to own all the material things present in this world. One simply has to make the most out of every circumstance that life has to offer. Know and be grateful for what you have. Choose happiness.

On to my ensemble, I wore this to another day of wandering around the lovely city of LA. Can you recall the top that I wore the other way around from this post? Oops, I did it again. That bow detail was too cute not to flaunt up front. What’s more, I adored how I was able to don my ear flap beanie without feeling weird the entire day.

P.S. Please put up with with me as I continue to deal with my blog backlogs. It seems never-ending pero keribels ko ito! ;)

Opt for ‘Oh Wells’ than ‘What Ifs’

image

Shawty had them Apple Bottom jeans, jeans, boots with the fur, with the fur.

Flo Rida’s seasoned song echoed in my head the first time I put on these boots. To be blatantly honest, I never considered wearing fur boots in my life. I always thought that they were passé and that only one out of ten people could actually wear it well. But that is what fashion is about, isn’t it? Taking risks, trying one’s limits and wanting to go beyond them.

image

In general, life is like that as well. You’ll never know if you never try. Nevertheless the act of trying is often not easy. Each and every one of us is frightened that we might fall short and discourage not only ourselves but also the people around us. In turn, we prefer settling wherever we feel sheltered, instead of truly making an effort to progress. But why settle for less when you can have much more? The key is to have confidence in one’s self, as well as one’s capabilities. Keep in mind that not being successful at first is nothing but ordinary.

Starting this 2013, choose to live a blissful life of ‘oh wells’ than a desperate life of ‘what ifs’.

Going Wild

I indulged my inner wild side for this lovely Wednesday afternoon as I took hold of my trusty leopard print bandage skirt whilst dressing up. Showing off some animal spirit, I paired it with my chic cutout top with similar graphic prints. Merci beaucoup to Jen of Sam’s Station for thoughtfully sending me this! :)

Substantially wearable, I believe that one can’t go off beam with the tasteful match of leopard print and monochrome colors. This getup is faultless for a hassle free day out and can still settle in effortlessly until nighttime with the right modifications.

Rucksack Attack

One staple in a college girl’s closet would be a bandage skirt. It’s wonderful how this piece could be worn casual, corporate… the list goes on! Having classes from 8 am to 5:30 pm this day, my peg was clearly casual and comfortable. I opted for nothing but the coziest clothes that I could get my hands on. Apparently, relaxing threads do not connote a dull ensemble. Just play with cool colors and quirky add-ons like I did!

Wanna know another college girl closet staple of mine? My canvas rucksack. Two straps are definitely better than one. It helps to balance the load of your bag on to your back and shoulders to avoid bad body pain.

What I wore: Television graphic print crop top and Yellow Ice watch [Sister’s closet], Red bandage skirt [Bangkok], Hello Kitty lenseless frames [Top Avenue], Pacman with Ghost necklace and Red Inverted Triangle necklace [Personalized Accessories], Blogger bracelet [The Bead Shop], Minnie Mouse ring [Clipper], Strawberry ring [DIY], Yellow Kung Fu shoes [Bangkok], Canvas rucksack [Young Wild Free]
