Spikes and Safety Pins

image

I decided to publish this outfit post simply because it’s too hot here in the Philippines and I want you to feel the heat even more. Just kidding! I only have a few more backlog photos from my Los Angeles trip and I can’t wait to share them all with you. For now, here is what I wore to a tiring day of tripping at North Hollywood. As always, it was chilly and so I had to layer up with some leather.

It really is all in the details, isn’t it? My special safety pins-embellished top was made by the resourceful Ken of Helga and Luna. Who would have thought that such small pieces of one commonplace thing can make such a big impact? In addition to that, this Seriously Spiked iPhone case was hand sewn by yours truly. Pang-self defense ang peg! Haha!

Dress Up Doll

If there is one pop icon that I would never outgrow, it would most probably be Barbie. Not only has the dazzling doll taken over the toy stores, but she has also developed into a fashion muse for girls of all ages. Her signature style that is fun and feminine was the peg used to create this girly get up of mine. Now, I can’t wait to wear more looks inspired by Barbie herself!

Opt for ‘Oh Wells’ than ‘What Ifs’

image

Shawty had them Apple Bottom jeans, jeans, boots with the fur, with the fur.

Flo Rida’s seasoned song echoed in my head the first time I put on these boots. To be blatantly honest, I never considered wearing fur boots in my life. I always thought that they were passé and that only one out of ten people could actually wear it well. But that is what fashion is about, isn’t it? Taking risks, trying one’s limits and wanting to go beyond them.

In general, life is like that as well. You’ll never know if you never try. Nevertheless the act of trying is often not easy. Each and every one of us is frightened that we might fall short and discourage not only ourselves but also the people around us. In turn, we prefer settling wherever we feel sheltered, instead of truly making an effort to progress. But why settle for less when you can have much more? The key is to have confidence in one’s self, as well as one’s capabilities. Keep in mind that not being successful at first is nothing but ordinary.

Starting this 2013, choose to live a blissful life of ‘oh wells’ than a desperate life of ‘what ifs’.

Girl on the Go

The past few weeks have been quite a whirl that words cannot even explain. Not a single complaint though, I must say that this kind of hustle and bustle is something that I have come to love. How, you may ask? Let me give you several (tried and tested) tips to lessen pressure and increase productivity.

1. Plan and stick to it. Keep a planner or make a to-do list and strictly pursue it, no excuses accepted.

2. Prioritize. Use up your time on essential errands only. Otherwise, you’ll be wasting precious hours and equally precious energy too.

3. Learn how to say no. Oftentimes, it is hard to decline favors from family and friends but it is very important to think of your to-do list first prior to acquiring extra work.

4. Turn down distractions. Facebook and Twitter are my top two evils when I need to concentrate and so SelfControl for Mac is something that I treasure.

5. Kick back and relax when desired. Too much of something is well, too much. It’s okay to take a day off and pick yourself up. My favorite time out treat is Nail It! Salon’s Package 1!

And another treat for a girl on the go like me? This clever emergency kit from MARiS that holds useful paraphernalia, perfect for all kinds of girl crises!

What I wore: White sheer top and Red snakeskin clutch [Hong Kong], Leopard print skirt [Ysh’s Gift], Black sunglasses with floral details [Random], Turquoise stone studded necklace [Bangkok], Crisscross magnetic cuff [Hailey and Five], Black and Turquoise YSL inspired Arty oval ring [Young Wild Free], Colorblock platform pumps [Primadonna], Girl’s Little Emergency Kit [MARiS], Nails by Nail It! Salon

How about you? How do you handle a hectic schedule? :)

Going Wild

I indulged my inner wild side for this lovely Wednesday afternoon as I took hold of my trusty leopard print bandage skirt whilst dressing up. Showing off some animal spirit, I paired it with my chic cutout top with similar graphic prints. Merci beaucoup to Jen of Sam’s Station for thoughtfully sending me this! :)

Substantially wearable, I believe that one can’t go off beam with the tasteful match of leopard print and monochrome colors. This getup is faultless for a hassle free day out and can still settle in effortlessly until nighttime with the right modifications.
