What do you do when you realize that the time to say goodbye to the place that you have been used to for the last three years, the place that has become your second home and the place where you have built a thousand memories in has come at last? All I could do was slow down and take a trip down memory lane.

image

It seems just like yesterday when I entered De La Salle University for the very first time and had the slightest idea regarding its surroundings. “Where is the North Conservatory? Where is Yuchengco Lobby? Where is the canteen?” were just some of the questions inside my naïve Frosh mind. Fast forward to the present time as a graduating La Sallian, I have come to be familiar with the university grounds like it is the back of my hand. Cliché as it may sound, time really does fly fast- way too fast, if I may add.

image

Within the academe, I met friends that have slowly but surely become family. I met wonderful people that are at present additions to my now stronger support system. I am thankful for my college barkada; my Fags- Abbey, Aressa, Chum, Coleen, Denise, Joy, Rosette and TheaWithout these girls, my college life would have been a total bore. I will never forget our weekly matching outfits and cray cray afternoons at Beach.

‘Cause we gon’ rock this club, we gon’ go all night, we gon’ light it up like it’s dynamite! ;) #themesong

Within the academe, I got to know a former schoolmate of mine, Joy- who is now very much like a (Jeje) sister to me. All through high school, we only shared hi’s and hello’s. Now, what we have is something so much more than that. She is one of the people who pushed me into starting a fashion blog, my personal photographer who coincidentally took the set of photographs in this post too!

Within the academe, a relationship that was once lost was brought back together and has made me one happy girl ever since. I will always be thankful for my boyfriend, Gabby. Without this boy, I would have taken the taxi (or the train) to and from school every day. Haha! Seriously speaking though, thank you for making me your priority, thank you for always taking care of me and most of all, thank you for not giving up when you had every reason to do so.

image

Within the academe, I was well taught. I entered DLSU as a raw freshman student. Yes, I was able to acquire learning from high school but the knowledge that my professors have endowed me with are without a doubt beyond price, an education that I will truly take with me and make the most of as I enter the real world. At this moment, I leave DLSU as an accomplished person with utmost confidence as to what lies ahead of me

image

Thank you, DLSU’s guards and discipline officers for letting me get away with breaking the dress code (sometimes). Thank you, MyWiFi for being there when I need you. Thank you, my favorite Andrew guards for always having a joyful disposition that is quite transmittable to us students. Thank you, Andrew Building’s stairs for giving me batak legs whenever I’m running late for my classes at the 10th floor.

image

Thank you, La Casita Cafeteria at Andrew 6th for serving delicious breakfast that starts my day spot on. Thank you, computer laboratory at Andrew 17th for being a convenient place to print my procrastinated home work using my e-Purse. Thank you, 7-11 at One Archers Place for having good coffee that preps me up for my early 8 am classes.

image

Thank you, Agno’s BacSilog for being the yummy you. Thank you, Zen Tea EGI for being a nice chill place during my long breaks. Thank you, Zaide’s siopao for filling my famished stomach. Thank you, Pearl of Great Price Chapel for being my serene sanctuary. Thank you, Yuchengco Building for providing me with scenic surroundings and sufficient sunlight for my outfit photo shoots.

image

Thank you, Henry Sy Sr. Hall for being as beautiful as you are and for making me take pleasure in your facilities even just for a short while. Last but definitely not the least, thank you, De La Salle University for an incredible three years of my college life! To my fellow June graduates, a big congratulations to us! We finally did it!

John and Yoko

How have you been, my fellow foodies? It’s been a while since my last restaurant review post, thus I have decided to write a quick one featuring my choice Japanese restaurant in Greenbelt 5, John and Yoko. Without any exaggeration, I can declare that I have devoured in this place for more than ten times already. I did not get the chance to take photos of their interiors during my most recent visit but to elucidate; their walls consist of colored lights and modish silhouettes. They also have classic Japanese films projected on the restaurant’s wall, which I find pretty cool!

image

Spicy Tuna Salad (P268) - For starters, I (almost) always order their Spicy Tuna Salad. The lettuce leaves are served crunchy all the time and the raw tuna tastes fresh plus mingles very well with the salad’s dressing.

image

Chicken Teriyaki and Mango Pizza (P309) - This is actually what makes me come back to John and Yoko again and again. Have a taste of this once and I guarantee you’ll get constant cravings. Every one ingredient present on the pizza throws in to its whole delightful taste, most especially the mango slices which put in a twist to your typical pizza.

image

Green Chicken (P318) - I’m keen on how each piece of chicken is coated with a flavorful batter and fried until crisp. The serving is big enough to share as well.

image

Tonkatsu Curry (P328) - I wasn’t able to sample this dish but my sister Dana emptied her plate and I take that as a good sign!

On the whole, John and Yoko will undoubtedly make more diners embrace the cosmopolitan Japanese concept it offers. Be sure to order my highly recommended dish, their Chicken Teriyaki and Mango Pizza to have a gratifying dining experience. I’m craving for a slice as I type this!

New Possibilities + SuperSale Giveaway

Being open to new possibilities is nothing but a great thing. A person’s profession and eventually one’s whole existence come about by trying out new things and unexpectedly realizing an ideal fondness for something they never thought would delight their spirits. It’s true what they say; you’ll never know if you never try.

For this particular ensemble, I stepped out of my comfort zone and left my typical neckwear behind. Detachable collars have been around for quite some time now but I only got to wear one recently, special thanks to Jac of flatterbuy. One lovely discovery from this deed? A newfound love for these brilliant babies! It’s wonderful how they effortlessly perk up any top in your closet, minus the heat and hassle of additional layers.

What I wore: DIY YSL graphic printed crop top and Gold pumps [Bangkok], Zebra print trousers with bow detail [Signatures by Cristina A.Venue], Gold spikes stud earrings, Gold five row spikes bangle and Black and White mini mustache rings [Young Wild Free], Great Gatsby collar [flatterbuy], Gold Louis Vuitton Miroir Alma [Mom’s hand me down] | Photos by Joy Maslog
